Furniture Care & Maintenance Guide
Protect your investment and keep your home looking elegant with these expert care tips from Dhaka Furniture.
1. Smart Cleaning for Lasting Shine
To maintain the original texture of your wooden furniture, always use a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth for daily dusting. If needed, use a slightly dampened cloth to remove spots, but ensure the surface is wiped dry immediately to prevent water marks or swelling.
2. Sun & Heat Protection
Avoid placing your premium pieces in direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause discoloration and weaken the wood finish. Additionally, always use coasters or heat-resistant mats under laptops, hot plates, or electronics to protect the surface from extreme temperature damage.
3. Humidity & Climate Control
Bangladesh's humid climate requires special attention. To prevent wood expansion or fungus, keep your furniture in a well-ventilated area. Avoid placing items directly against damp walls, especially during the monsoon season, to ensure the longevity of the termite-resistant finish.
4. Safe Handling & Placement
When rearranging your room, always lift the furniture rather than dragging it. Dragging can cause structural stress and scratch your floors. For stability, ensure the furniture is placed on a level surface to avoid warping over time.
5. Chemical Safety Warning
Keep your furniture safe from harsh chemicals. Products like nail polish remover, perfumes, hairsprays, and strong glass cleaners contain solvents that can permanently damage the protective lacquer. If a spill occurs, blot it gently with a soft cloth—do not rub.
